Wilderness Areas/Wild & Scenic Rivers
Allegheny Islands Wilderness - The islands are popular for dispersed camping, exploration, and viewing scenery and wildlife.
Bighorn Mountain Wilderness - The Wilderness supports numerous resident and migratory birds, rich riparian springs which are unique to a desert environment, and carbonate plant habitats that consist of many rare and endangered species.
Cahuilla Mountain Wilderness - The Cahuilla Mountain Wilderness offers spectacular views of the historic Juan Bautista de Anza Trail, soaring peaks, and the vast desert landscape.
Cucamonga Wilderness - The steep, rugged terrain of the Cucamonga Wilderness rises abruptly from the urban San Bernardino Valley, ranging from approximately 5,000 feet to almost 9,000 feet.
Hickory Creek Wilderness - Hickory Creek was designated as Wilderness in 1984 and contains 8,663 acres of gentle to moderate terrain.
San Jacinto Wilderness - Unique among designated areas, the San Jacinto Wilderness lies split in half by Mount San Jacinto State Park andĀ its wilderness area, which is managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation.
South Fork San Jacinto Wilderness - The South Fork San Jacinto Wilderness contains lush groves of big-cone Douglas fir, willow, and cottonwood.
