History and nature share the landscape at Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park with battlefields, historical structures, forest, wildlife, and so much more.

In Virginia, Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park is one of America’s historical landscapes from the Civil War spanning 7,600 acres. With four battlefields, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Spotsylvania Court House, history surrounds you. There are 23 trails, some on historical sites, and 6,500 acres of forest habitat. The park is divided by the fall line which allows visitors to see the geographic and environmental changes between the Piedmont and Coastal Plain areas. The park has rich forests, wetlands, and grasslands/cultural meadows. These areas have a great diversity of vegetation and wildlife, including invasive species.
