Cabeza Prieta was established in 1939 as a game range to conserve and develop wildlife and other natural resources. 93% of the Cabeza Prieta is Wilderness. Wilderness varies in each area, but in general the area and the life within it is protected, used for recreational activities, and maintained for future generations to enjoy as well.
